The notes were written by professor emeritus James T. Cross, and have been used for many years as a number theory text at Sewanee. Professors Mac Priestley and Chris Parrish worked to bring the notes to the current web-based version. The notes will also be published through the electronic Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning (JIBLM.org).

Professors Doug Drinen and Mac Priestley are co-authors of the Monthly paper with Grace, who is now starting a thesis in mathematics at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
